We had the normal agenda of 4-person team best-ball scramble the first day followed by 3 days of stroke-play competition. Players were divided up into flights according to their adjusted handicaps, plus a senior division for players over 65.
A delicious barbecue dinner meal was provided and the last night we had an awards banquet where prizes were awarded to the various winners of each flight plus the scramble, and closest to the pin and straightest drive prizes for each day's play.
We had a drawing for one person to attempt a 50' putt for a $10,000 prize if accomplished. Mike Strasser won the drawing but alas, he didn't make the putt. However, Cindy Schlaffman had a hole-in-one and was given a plaque from Eagle Crest for this accomplishment, plus other prizes. She wants everyone to know it pays to buy hole-in-one insurance!
Winners of the Scramble were: First Place: Doug Belknap, Bob Young, Bill Buonamassa and Barb Whiting. Second and Third Place tied: David George, Mark Notar, Al Christensen and Dee Ann Grummett tied with Harry Brown, Pat Wilcox and Bill Hansen.
Men's Low Gross winner was Doug Belknap; Women's Low Gross winner was Arlene Smith. Flight winners: Men's A Flight: 1st Mike Strasser; 2nd John Lucas; 3rd Rusty Shaub. Men's B Flight: 1st Mike Gabel; 2nd Kim Custer; 3rd Jay Bruch. Men's C Flight: 1st Jim Arnoldt; 2nd John Schoenmann; 3rd Jim Jacobsen. Senior's Flight: 1st Harry Brown; 2nd Tom Cashen; 3rd Pat Wilcox. Women's A Flight: 1st Trina Jones; 2nd Donna Cote; 3rd Sue Wilcox. Women's B Flight: 1st Alison Elgee; 2nd Kris Burnett; 3rd Dee Boster.

Golf course that has been open since 1964. There have been some changes in recent seasons, and several changes taking place in the months and years ahead. Welcome to Mille Lacs Golf Resort and Marina Hardwoods Golf Club. Future plans include a new newspaper design club and a restaurant, a park of 35,000 square feet indoor water a day spa, a 120 unit apartment building hotel and many other facilities planned for the future. There is also the possibility of buying or renting single family homes and townhouses, which have the design of the newspaper.
